Business-Technology Accelerator UKIM (BAU)
Delovno-Tehnoloshki Akcelerator UKIM DOO Skopje (BAU) is North Macedonia's first startup and technology accelerator, founded in 2018 through a partnership between Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje (UKIM), private-sector institutions, and foundations. Anchored around UKIM and its co-founders, BAU leverages academic expertise to catalyze innovation, helping startups, scale-ups, and university spin-offs commercialize their research and grow.
Since its founding, BAU has delivered 15+ acceleration and incubation programmes, supported 150+ entrepreneurial teams across sectors such as deep tech, mobility, circular economy, health, energy, and manufacturing, and evaluated over 400 ideas. It also manages a €533,000 early-stage investment fund, having invested in ten high-potential startups.
